Hello! I’m Sophia, a 20 yr old beauty lover from Newcastle. My two biggest obsessions are makeup and mojitos. I’m also partial to writing a review or two, which is where this blog comes in handy.
My passion for makeup started when I developed a condition known as M.E. (more info on this can be found here) which left me in a wheelchair at 14. Wearing makeup made me feel like more of a person, and as my health improved and I learned to walk again, I began reading makeup blogs and honing my skills. In 2016, I started micro-blogging on Instagram, posting mini reviews and #SundaySpotlights, where I share my favourite product from each week. After a lot of encouragement from my family and followers of my Instagram, I finally took the plunge and started my own website. I like to think I’ve improved a hell of a lot in the past 5 years, and I now feel knowledgable enough to share my in-depth reviews (and any tips and tricks I’ve picked up along the way) on my own dedicated website.
Daily life with a chronic illness is incredibly difficult, which is why I’m grateful to be able to celebrate one of my biggest passions on a regular basis. You may occasionally find lifestyle posts on this blog, where I discuss aspects of living as a disabled person. My posts may be aimed at encouraging people who are coming to terms with a diagnosis, or guiding the actions of non-disabled people in approaching particular subjects.
I hope you enjoy my cosy little corner of the internet. I’d offer you a cup of tea and some biscuits if I could, but I guess this welcome will have to do. So, welcome!
